Jason DeFoor - Pastor

Jason DeFoor has served as Pastor of Poplar Springs since January of 2007.  He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Luther Rice University.  He grew up in Toccoa, GA, and graduated from Stephens County High School.  Jason's ministry experience includes serving as Associate Pastor and Interim Pastor at Broad River Baptist Church in Eastanollee, GA, and Activities Minister and Missions Pastor at Bay Leaf Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.  Jason and his wife, Valerie, are proud parents of Anna, Josiah, Rebecca & Lydia. 

Pam Emery - Ministry Assistant

Pam Emery has been a member of Poplar Springs since 1994 and on staff as Ministry Assistant since 2002. She is married to Robert who serves as Assistant Region Manager of the North Georgia Region of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites.  They have raised three boys - Chris, Senior Systems Engineer at MainStreet Technologies in Cornelia, GA, Steven, Interpretive Ranger at Stephen C. Foster State Park in Fargo, GA, and Joseph, a graduate student in Library & Information Science at Rutgers University in New Jersey.  They also have a wonderful "daughter" Trish (wife to son, Chris) and 3 delightful grandsons, Sam, Nathan & Isaac.  In addition to her duties as Ministry Assistant, Pam is a Preschool Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Treasurer and serves on various committees.  In her leisure time, Pam enjoys spending time with her family, camping and the outdoors, crafts, needlework and quilt making.
